Let’s start by discussing the color of the baseball. As I mentioned in my last article, the outer shell of the baseball is made of PVC, which can be produced in a variety of colors. These vibrant colors make the ball more visually appealing. But from the perspective of users and the environment, color holds additional significance. For example, if the user is colorblind, they can choose a color that catches their attention. Similarly, on a brown field, we can use more eye-catching colors like red or orange. You might ask: What color should we use at night? White? Yes, white, but that’s only half the answer. We can make the ball glow-in-the-dark, allowing it to shine brightly in the darkness! Doesn’t that sound cool? Additionally, we can mix other colors into the PVC to create a cloud-like effect or add some glitter for a bling-bling effect.
Beyond color, the physical properties of PVC can also be adjusted. The most common method is to alter the elasticity of the training ball by adjusting the hardness of the PVC. Of course, you can also increase elasticity by changing the thickness of the shell or inflating the ball. However, altering the shell thickness affects both weight and cost, and inflation has its limits (over-inflation can cause deformation). If you have higher demands for the ball’s elasticity, is there no solution? There is! We’ve modified the PVC raw material to create a foaming effect in the shell. Just like the “BOOST” in your shoes, the tiny bubbles significantly enhance bounce and rebound!
As for adjusting the weight of the training ball, currently, this can only be achieved by changing the ratio, particle size, and volume of the sand. For example, if you want to inject more sand into the ball without increasing its weight, we’ll use larger iron or natural sand particles. If you require more empty space, we’ll use finer iron sand.
Lastly, if you want to change the appearance of the ball, such as embossing your logo or adding patterns, the only method is to create a new mold. This involves a significant cost (usually around $3,500).
